Ever since Ferdinand Magellan landed in the Philippines in 1521, Filipinos have all turned into the Cross of Christ. Indigenous Filipino native with pagan practices and belief in multiple deities quickly turned to Christianity. Today Filipinos stand out in their devotional prayers, built on a strong foundation of devotion to the Blessed Mother Mary, the suffering Christ and the Santo Nino (Holy Child). In celebration of the year-long Jubilee of the arrival of Christianity in the Philippines 2021-2022, our parish of Divine Mercy is graced with the honor of hosting the JUBILEE CROSS on April 11 at 11am coinciding with the Feast of Divine Mercy, one of the great devotions among Filipinos. The Jubilee Cross will stay in our parish for a month. Our Divine Mercy Filipino Choir will pray the Rosary and say the Litany of the Holy Cross every Saturday evening while the Cross is with us. Please join us in this unique celebration and show your support to the Filipino members of the parish. Mabuhay po kayong lahat!
